Filter Magazine premiered Miserable's beautiful "Halloween Dream" music video today!
Here's some info on the music video courtesy of Kristina, herself:
Halloween Dream is about feeling pulled in two different directions.
It was written in a time of my life where I was trying to take the high road in a situation that I hadn't imagined myself ever being in. The song is about me looking back and feeling like making the right choice didn't mean anything at all in the end. That sometimes, having integrity in a compromising place doesn't always end up with a heroic and rewarding feeling. What is the "right choice"? What does it actually mean? Is it choosing your own happiness over someone else's? Where do you draw the line of self-indulgence versus what the heart wants? This song, collectively, is based around hurting someone whom you deeply care for.
I created this video when I was between houses and staying with a gracious friend of mine. I had a lot of time to kill, so I gathered some footage from various videos, and recorded them on an outdated iPhone. It is rough, but I like how it turned out, especially for a first attempt.
Watch it below, and pre-order your digital download or limited edition vinyl (Hand-numbered, Ultra Clear 7" with Gold Haze), and receive and instant download of the song!

The Native Sound is proud to announce the signing of Chicago indie band, Divino Niño. Consisting of members, Camilo Medina, Javier Forero, Guillermo Rodriguez and Pierce Codina, the band is known for their dreamy, psychedelic sound, drum loops, harmonies, world percussion, and Latin American roots – Medina and Forero met in Bogota, Colombia when they were very young, reuniting again in Miami, Florida in 2003, and have been playing music ever since.
In 2010, Medina moved to Chicago and met Guillermo Rodriguez in college and began a project called Continental Breakfast. A year later, after Continental Breakfast broke up, Javier joined Camilo and Guillermo in Chicago and began making music right away. Pierce came like an angel from Venus after his locally known project Tin Tin Can came to a halt. It was then that the band began writing and recording what would become their debut full-length album, and forthcoming release with The Native Sound, Pool Jealousy.
To this day the group is bonded together by their naiveté, lust for romanticism, and their unshakeable belief that a song should move your soul or your hips.
The Native Sound will release Pool Jealousy this Spring. For now, download "Bottle Demon" at iTunes and Bandcamp.
Catch Divino Niño at the following shows:
01/18/2014: Chicago, IL @ Township
01/25/2014: New York City @ St. Mazies

The good folks at Brooklyn Vegan just premiered the first track off Miserable’s upcoming Halloween Dream EP, “Bell Jar”! Brooklyn Vegan calls it "quite possible her strongest solo track to date" and likens it to the "big metallic shoegaze" of Deafheaven. We just think everything Kristina does is rad, and hope you enjoy it.
Along with the song premiere, we’re also making the limited edition 7-inch (hand-numbered, on transparent vinyl with gold-haze) available for pre-order at our webstore. Those will ship on or around the February 18th release date; we’ll email downloads for the EP at least a couple of days before that though.
Click here to stream "Bell Jar" via Brooklyn Vegan, and here for more info on the EP and pre-orders!
UPDATE: You can now stream "Bell Jar" below.

After a successful run of shows in the UK, Europe and Japan, Koji is happy to announce the following shows in his home state of Pennsylvania. The first show, this Friday in Harrisburg, will be his first hometown show in two years.
12/27/13: Harrisburg, PA @ MakeSpace w/ Rebecca Marie Miller, Placeholder (info)
01/03/14: Lansdale, PA @ Lansdale Music Factory w/ Halfling, Placeholder (info)
01/14/14: Lancaster, PA @ Animal House w/ Placeholder (info)
These will also be the first shows that Koji’s tour-exclusive edition of the Matters EP, limited to only 50 copies, and pressed on navy blue tape, will be available. As many of you know, Koji's copies of the tape didn't make it to him in time for his shows overseas. And if you know that, you probably know that all other copies of the EP sold-out within three days of posting them on our webstore. Don't sleep on it – when these are gone there will be no other way to get your hands on this tour-exclusive variant.
