Today I'm ecstatic to announce that FVNERALS have joined The Native Sound family! Based in Glassgow, Scotland, FVNERALS are the first international band on the label, and one that fans of the label will undoubtably agree is as a fitting addition. To celebrate this announcement, we are releasing their debut LP, The Light (originally issued in 2014 via Throne Records and Eerie Echoes) on limited edition cassette tapes for the first time ever.
If you're a fan of King Woman, True Widow, or even Chelsea Wolfe, and each of their haunting takes on doom, shoegaze and drone, you'll find something to love in FVNERALS. Look out for news on their next LP later this year!
Tapes are shipping now.
More info: Formed in the south coast of England near the start of 2013, and now based in Glasgow, Scotland, FVNERALS are a three piece melodic gloom band. Redolent of our very own King Woman, and stalwarts such as True Widow and Chelsea Wolfe, FVNERALS have developed a sound that fuses the dreamy and reverb-soaked tones of shoegaze with drone and doom. Always haunting and ethereal, the band is known for building absolutely gorgeous and emotive soundscapes led by Tiffany’s layers of harmonizing vocals.
Currently in the writing and demoing stage of what will become their sophomore LP, The Native Sound is proud to be FVNERALS’ home in the United States, and celebrate that announcement with the release of their 2014 debut album The Light on limited edition cassette tapes for the very first time.
The good people at New Noise Magazine just premiered an acoustic session for New Manners' "Give Me Your Bones". Filmed by Andrew Serrato, the song is the title track off the passed recently released Give Me Your BonesEP.
Here are some words by Nick of New Manners on the song:
"Every song I write starts with an acoustic. I feel like if it can be a great song in its simplest form then it can only sound as great or better in a full band setting. ‘Give Me Your Bones’ was definitely one of those songs where I had so many ideas for other parts, yet I get just as much enjoyment playing it with just six strings. It’s my personal favorite from the new EP."
Coming off the heels of this past summer’s Imago LP, we are pleased to announce Lost Film’s new EP, Temporary. Led by Jimmy Hewitt, the band’s sole permanent member, Lost Film is the minimalist – and in this iteration – lo-fi guitar pop project that followed Hewitt’s now defunct band, Orca Orca.
Unlike the lush, full-band recordings of Imago, the Temporary EP brings Jimmy back to the place he feels most comfortable as an artist, and put simply, where it all began – isolated, and alone at the microphone.
Disorienting noise meets post-punk when James Meuleners (Mother Room) and James Rogers (Teal, also of Creative Adult) come together for a Split EP – out now! Give it a listen at The Bay Bridged or download/ stream at the links below!
Sheer's new album Uneasy is out now! It's eleven songs worth of shoegaze and dream-pop meets 90s grunge in the vein of Pity Sex and The Jesus And Mary Chain. Give it a listen at Bullett (plus a track-by-track annotation) or download/ stream at the links below!
