Miserable to Release 'Uncontrollable' LP; Listen to "Oven" At Noisey

Posted on February 24th, 2016

It's been a long time coming, but today we're excited to finally announce Miserable's debut LP Uncontrollable! The album will feature nine songs, including "Oven" (listen now via SoundCloud). Noisey premiered it today and calls it, "desperately sad, and blissfully lovely".

Succeeding a string of EPs (Halloween Dream and Dog Days), Uncontrollable follows as Kristina's most complete and nuanced work. Written and recorded over the course of a year, this debut LP is consequentially the most emotional, and quite frankly, saddest release in her history as an artist. Wrestling with insecurities, grief, and the lingering feeling of lack of control, Uncontrollable compiles nine songs drenched with feeling.

Uncontrollable will be released on April 29th, both digitally and on limited edition vinyl.

Pre-order Uncontrollable on the following formats:
– Vinyl
– MP3
– Starter Pack (including past Miserable releases)

More on Heavenly:

Plastic Flowers is a Dream Pop band from London, UK, formed in late 2011 by multi-instrumentalist George Samaras. He has recorded two full length studio albums Evergreen (2014) and Heavenly (2016).

After graduating from high school he experimented with drone sounds and worked closely with other musicians, including former band member Angelos Paschalidis. During his college years in Thessaloniki he begun recording under the name Plastic Flowers and quickly released a series of EP's and singles that received praise for their lo-fi feeling and warmth. The hazy atmosphere created with the heavy use of soft guitars and multilayered synth patterns are some of the main characteristics of Plastic Flowers' sound.

BBC described his music as "very ethereal soundscapes accompanied by warm vocals" while DIY Magazine labelled him as a "Greek wunderkind musician." After a prolonged period of writing and experimentation, his second full length album entitled "Heavenly" will be released April 22nd, 2016 through The Native Sound. Recordings took place between October and December 2015 in North West London.

FLOOD Premiere Funeral Advantage's "Gardensong" Music Video; Canada Tour Announced

Posted on January 25th, 2016

FLOOD Magazine just premiered the music video for Funeral Advantage's "Gardensong"! The song comes off this past fall's Body Is Dead LP, available on vinyl, tape, and digitally. On the video FLOOD says, "The idyllic suburban setting and the precociousness of the footage itself lightly recall parts of Richard Linklater’s Boyhood in their high regard for the genuine and sweet sense of possibility kids still believe themselves to have. It’s hard not to cheer for the guy when he makes the move from the driveway to the skate park."

Here are some words from Tyler on the video:
"I’ve wanted to make a skate video since I was 11 years old. My friends and I would spend all of our time filming and talking about what music would go with what parts, etc. We didn't have much planned beyond that, it was just going to happen, and that was that.

I don't normally look back fondly on my childhood, but even so, "Gardensong" turned out to be about appreciating the things you used to dream about when you were younger. We never made the skate video, but I like to think this is close to what it would have turned out as. I'm only about 13 years late finishing it."

Upcoming tour dates:
03/16 – Cambridge, MA @ Middle East w/ Modern Lives
03/17 – Albany, NY @ Fuze Box w/ Modern Lives
03/18 – Windsor, ON @ Milk w/ Modern Lives
03/19 – Toronto, ON @ D-Beastro w/ Modern Lives
03/20 – Ottawa, ON @ Pressed w/ Modern Lives
03/21 – Montreal, QC @ Casa Del Popolo w/ Modern Lives
